wow, i haven't written in a long time. this damn hotel room isn't condusive to any kind of writing or creative thought or anything... except maybe sleep. i haven't had that much to write about anyway. J's been in school & looking for a job, i've been looking for a job. other than that, we eat, sleep, blah blah blah like everyone else in the world. we've both been pretty stressed because the job market hadn't been kind, money was becoming scarce & we're supposed to be out of this god-awful messy white box in 2 weeks. well, in the last 2 days, we've both finally found gainful employment! yay!! J found his job in a sort of unconventional way. we saw a "for rent" sign for a house & drove down the street to take a look. J saw a truck with a ladder on it & said "i bet that guy runs cable". the guy came outside, J went to talk to him and he does run cable. he gave J the number of the company, he called, went in for an interview & got the job. so serendipidous. he starts tomorrow. i got my job the "normal" way. sent in a resume, got called, the usual. the testing & interview took the better part of 2 1/2 hours this morning. i'll be doing customer service in a call center environment. it's not the ideal dream job, but the pay & benefits are outstanding & hey, it IS a job. the training starts on the 28th & is 8 frickin weeks long. they actually made me a "contigency offer" meaning they do a background & employment check. nothing should go wrong there but keep your fingers crossed for me just in case. J has a final today (he's taking it as i write this in fact) and then we are going out on a celebratory date. i know we're going to hit texas roadhouse again, but other than that, i don't know. it'll be the last day in a long time for the two of us to spend an evening together. J will be working all day & switching to school at night. i'm not sure what my hours will be after the training, the center is open 6 am til 2 am, so it could be any hours. we found an apartment that we both love. so that's the next project, trying to get that all set up. so that's what's been going on around here. things are looking up, i just hope they continue that way.
